I-10 widening project in CG to include buffer walls with water art

Widening of Interstate 10 on the southern edge of Casa Grande will begin early next year and will feature art elements that reflect the historic importance of water in the Casa Grande Valley, officials said.

Duane Eitel, traffic engineer with the city of Casa Grande, said the Arizona Department of Transportation is expected to begin soliciting bids for the project in September.

“ADOT is currently moving forward with the project to widen I-10 from I-8 to Earley Road. The project will add a third lane in each direction with an auxiliary lane leading into and out of the ramps at the Jimmie Kerr interchange,” he said.
