Casa Grande Council members optimistic about Dreamport project

The City Council received a thorough briefing Monday night on a proposed 1,500-acre recreation resort in Casa Grande.

City planners presented an overview of Dreamport Villages, the project expected to include an amusement park at the Interstate 8 and Interstate 10 junction, in advance of a pending decision to approve a land-use request for the property.

The Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission approved the request earlier this month and the matter will soon be reviewed by the council. No action was taken on the matter Monday night, but some council members expressed their support in seeing the project move forward.
