Casa Grande Council softens stance on RTA tax

While recognizing that no one likes new taxes, the Casa Grande City Council on Monday appeared to begin to rethink an earlier stance against a proposed sales tax increase for transportation.

But concerns remain among some council members, with Councilman Dick Powell being vocally and staunchly against the proposed tax.

“We have the ability to get all these places without spending any money,” Powell said, referring to the projects slated to be constructed with funds from the tax.
