Casa Grande leaders disappointed but not shocked Kmart closing

City officials say they’re disappointed to learn of the impending closure of Kmart.
City Manager Larry Rains told PinalCentral: “It is always disappointing to learn of a retail business leaving the Casa Grande market. The citizens of our community have done a very good job supporting Kmart over the years. When other communities witnessed the retailer leaving their region, we were pleased to learn that Casa Grande had been spared.”
Kmart, a subsidiary of Sears Holdings, announced Thursday that the Casa Grande store was one of 45 that would close nationwide. The Casa Grande store is the only Arizona Kmart to close during this latest round of store shutterings.
