Casa Grande may start own ambulance service

The City Council has taken the first step toward operating the city’s own ambulance service.

Monday council members approved a contract with a third party to evaluate whether the Fire Department would be able to manage an ambulance service. The preliminary work by the James Vincent Group will determine whether the city could run its own Advanced or Basic Life Supports ambulance service and medical transports.

Currently, all medical transports are done by a third party, American Medical Response.
