CAVIT numbers drop after funding changes

cavitEnrollment numbers at Central Arizona Valley Institute of Technology have dipped after funding changes made by the state Legislature earlier this year.

According to a report submitted to the CAVIT Governing Board, there were 491 students enrolled in the district as of August. Over 600 were enrolled at the same time last year.

CAVIT Superintendent Mike Glover said the decrease is attributed to new mandates set by the Legislature, which bar adults with high school diplomas from enrolling in the district’s programs.
