Last year, the City of Maricopa instituted Employee of the Year awards for the first time to show appreciation for City workers.
The 2014 awards were handed out at last Tuesday’s City Council meeting, and four employees walked away with $500, an additional vacation day and a plaque to recognize their accomplishments.
Winners from three categories were represented, and one category had two winners due to a voting tie. The categories included Employees of the Year for non-management, mid-management and public safety.
