Developers say Pinal’s ‘Disney’ not like past failures

Rose Law Group’s Cameron Carter spoke to the Pinal County Board of Supervisors during a special session Wednesday on behalf of the development company driving what was deemed a similar-to-Walt-Disney-World theme park and resort in Casa Grande.

And despite failed attempts to bring amusement parks into Pinal County in the past, he insisted that Florida-based Block Sports Company is different. This one is up for the challenge to bring the $4 billion project — dubbed Dreamport Villages — to life.

“The principles and the partners in the Block Sports Company, they have the experience and the capacity to take this project on,” Carter said. “One of the things that I’ve heard as I’ve been involved in this and talking to different people is, ‘well, you know, there were other parks proposed,’ or, ‘somebody floated the idea of a park in Eloy and it never got off the ground, and so this won’t either.’”
