[EDITORIAL] Pinal County clerk shines light on faults of predecessor

The new Pinal County clerk of the Superior Court, Amanda Stanford, has been shedding some needed light on her office since winning a hard-fought election battle last August. The public that elected her will be better off because of that.
Stanford earlier alleged wasteful spending in the office under her predecessor, Chad Roche. Also, last week she put a total to the previously revealed unauthorized viewing of sealed court files. That number is 657, involving 139 different cases. Stanford’s efforts have supplied information to multiple state authorities, and it seems likely a special master will review the information.
