Election 2016: Snider alone in wanting to postpone impact fees

Candidates address issues during Thursday’s forum

Former Pinal County Supervisor David Snider is the only City Council candidate to condone the idea of the city postponing impact fees on new industrial businesses.

Snider previously suggested the city consider granting a one-year moratorium to industrial businesses that agree to come to Casa Grande. He and the three other council candidates were asked about the idea again Thursday night during a political forum.

Snider stood by his earlier proposal that the city should evaluate this idea as a means of attracting new businesses and boosting the economy. Developers pay impact fees to the city, which are then used to build the roads, sewer lines and other items needed to support them.
