PPP Eloy considers adopting 2012 International Building CodesThe City of Eloy’s Community Development staff will be recommending that the Mayor and Council adopt the 2012 International Building Codes. Over the past year staff has been researching updated codes from other Arizona communities, and has prepared code amendments for Eloy that are consistent with adjacent jurisdictions and appropriate for future development. A revised permit fee schedule is also being considered for new construction. The City is currently using the 2003 International Codes, and it is important that new residential and nonresidential structures within the City are built with up-to-date construction practices which benefit new homeowners and the general public.

The International Building Codes are a standardized set of rules developed and published by the International Code Council and are adopted throughout the nation by states, cities and counties alike. The City Council will consider adoption of the new codes and amendments at its April 28 meeting.
