Florence Copper seeks to amend air quality permit

Florence Copper has applied for a “minor amendment” to its Pinal County air quality permit.

The company says the change is to acknowledge the project’s lower emissions through improved technology. The company plans to obtain the permit appropriate for full-scale commercial operations someday.

The Florence Copper Project off Hunt Highway is not currently operational and has no emissions, but the company is preparing for a small-scale test phase of its processes, which could begin in mid-2018.
