Lamb, Volkmer cautious with RICO funds

New Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb and County Attorney Kent Volkmer are reviewing procedures surrounding the past controversial use of seized criminal monies, commonly called RICO funds.

The controversy surrounding the alleged misuse of RICO funds may have played a role in the defeat of former Sheriff Paul Babeu’s pick to take his place, Steve Henry, as well as his “Law & Order” teammate, former County Attorney Lando Voyles. Now, Babeu’s and Voyles’ successors are approaching RICO with caution.

On the campaign trail, Lamb was not shy about questioning the management of RICO funds.
