Mayor Price Elected Treasurer of the League of AZ Cities and Towns

mayor price(NEWS RELEASE) Elected unanimously by all 91 members of the League of Arizona Cities and Towns, Mayor Christian Price will serve a two-year term as Treasurer in one of the League’s 3 officer positions of the Executive Committee. League activities are directed by the 25-member Executive Committee, which consists of mayors and councilmembers from across the State.

“This is a huge honor,” said Mayor Christian Price. “This position gives Maricopa a seat at the leadership table to set the direction the League of Arizona Cities and Towns takes to ensure that the that cities and towns across the state are in the best position to serve the needs of our residents and that those needs are heard by the Governor and State Legislature.”

The aim of the League of Arizona Cities and Towns is to promote local self-government, municipal independence and provide professional and high quality assistance to the municipal governments in the State of Arizona. The League of Arizona Cities and Towns, a voluntary membership organization of the incorporated municipalities in Arizona, exists to provide vital services and tools to all its members, focusing principally on representing the interests of cities and towns before the legislature, and secondarily on providing technical and legal assistance, coordinating shared services and producing high quality conference and educational events.

Chandler Mayor, Jay Tibshraeny, was elected President of the League and Lake Havasu Mayor, Mark Nexsen, was elected Vice President.

Mayor Price is in his second term as Mayor of the City of Maricopa. As small business owner and a staunch believer in networking and building solid long term regional relationships, Mayor Price is one of the community’s strongest advocates. His participation in regional and national coalitions is helping Maricopa extend its reach and increase regional recognition and influence.  He is the Chairman of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council Ambassadors group, a member of the Maricopa Association of Governments Economic Development Committee, Treasurer of the Executive Committee of the League of Arizona Cities and Towns as well as a member of the Community and Economic Development Steering Committee for the National League of Cities and a regular attendee or outright “Groupie” as he likes to say, of the very important 7 member Arizona State Transportation Board.
