PCSO administrator hopes to challenge O’Halleran in 2018 congressional race

If he seeks re-election in 2018, Arizona Congressman Tom O’Halleran, D-Sedona, could be going up against an opponent from the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, just as he did in 2016.
In an email this week, PCSO Administration Cmdr. Kevin Cavanaugh announced his candidacy for the Congressional District 1 seat.
The Republican candidate told PinalCentral Thursday that the early announcement would allow him an optimum amount of time to communicate his values and hear concerns from constituents in the district prior to an election.
