Pinal Clerk’s Office: Thousands in financial waste uncovered

In office for less than two months, the Pinal County administration of new Clerk of the Superior Court Amanda Stanford says it has uncovered a number of areas of financial waste.
Most prevalent, said Chief Deputy Lynn Hurley, is the more than $35,000 spent to install new modular-style offices during the tail-end of former clerk Chad Roche’s tenure. After bidding out the project and having the modulars installed, Hurley said, Roche ran into an issue — the structures didn’t meet fire and building code requirements.
So they sit, unused, holding holiday decorations, vacuum cleaners and extra desk chairs.
