Pinal farmer honored for irrigation technique

COOLIDGE — Local farmer Howard Wuertz has been named the recipient of the third annual Netafim Award for Advancement in Micro-irrigation for his pioneering efforts and contributions to the adaptation of drip-irrigation technology in the Western United States.

The annual award honors and recognizes a member of American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers who has made significant contributions toward the utilization and adaptation of micro-irrigation technology at any level of production.
