Pinal Supervisors delay consideration of San Tan Valley Fire & Medical District

In a neighborly gesture, the Organizing Committee of the proposed San Tan Valley Fire & Medical District (STVFMD) asked the Pinal County Board of Supervisors to postpone by two months a vote of its impact statement and application while it irons out boundary disputes with two adjoining towns. The Board promptly agreed to the request at its July 9 meeting.

Both the towns of Queen Creek and Florence raised objections to the proposed boundaries of STVFMD, arguing that they encroached on both towns municipal planning areas. Queen Creek sent its objections in a June 26 letter signed by Town Manager John Kross. Florence’s objections were delivered at the July 9 meeting by Florence Mayor Tom J. Rankin.
