Pinal wildlifeAs Arizona City resident Betsy Lagos, founder of Pinal Wildlife Rescue, prepares to appeal an Arizona Game and Fish Department decision to revoke her wildlife holding license, she said encouragement from the community keeps her going.

“I’m so happy to have the backing of the public because if I didn’t, I would give up,” she said.

Hundreds of people have signed petitions or written letters of support urging state officials to reinstate Pinal Wildlife Rescue’s licenses.

“We’ve had awesome public support,” Lagos said.

Thursday, Pinal Wildlife Rescue posted a petition online at www.change.org seeking public support to have its licenses and educational animals returned. By Monday morning, that petition had 121 signatures.
