The Rodel Foundation has named 50 exemplary principals since 2008 and four have been from the Casa Grande Elementary School District. That list includes Jeff Lavender in 2010, Joanne Kramer in 2011, Jennifer Murrieta in 2012 and Debbie John in 2014. Another principal, Jennifer McClintic, was nominated for 2015 and will know in January if she, too, has the title.

“We have more Rodel exemplary principals than any other district in the state,” said Superintendent Frank Davidson.

That’s likely due in part to a July 2007 decision to nurture principals when the district held a leadership retreat. The group identified leadership support and development as one of the district’s highest priorities. The year-long Leadership Academy was then created.

“It’s an integral part of growing our future leaders,” Davidson said.
