Sam’s Club Opens in Casa Grande, Bringing Jobs, Savings

Economic Development enhanced by new warehouse club

SamsCASA GRANDE, Ariz., May 20, 2014 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Sam’s Club will open its new Casa Grande club at 2425 E Florence Blvd following an 8 a.m. Grand Opening ceremony Thursday, May 22, adding jobs and a preferred member shopping experience to the region. The membership warehouse club will give residents and small business owners the opportunity to access incredible savings on quality products, including products made locally.

“Residents have been asking for a Casa Grande club for a while,” said local Sam’s Club Manager Eddie Valles. “We are excited to finally be opening here, and have created a club full of the merchandise the community is looking for.”

Grand Opening ceremony features local officials, special events and offerings

Mayor Bob Jackson will be among those participating in the grand opening ceremony. Additionally, area police, sheriff, and fire department officials along with the Casa Grande, Coolidge, Florence, and Maricopa chambers will be participating in a ribbon cutting ceremony. The Casa Grande Union High School ROTC will lead the posting of the colors.

Free health screenings, open to members and the public, will be given opening day from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and May 23 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to assess cholesterol, blood pressure, vision, hearing and a variety of other wellness areas.

Calais Campbell, defensive end for the Arizona Cardinals, will be on-hand during grand opening day from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to sign autographs and visit with fans.

Also during the Grand Opening, Sam’s Club will showcase a variety of special events inside the club including local favorite Arizona Spice Company .

Quality products help small businesses and busy families

Sam’s Club is bringing a unique, shopper-friendly experience to Casa Grande. Busy families can rely on fresh produce , quality meats and home meal solutions , while office supplies , vending machine snacks and paper goods prepare small business members for success. Measuring approximately 136,000 square feet, the new club will feature a variety of members-only amenities, including a fresh bakery, a tire and battery center , a café and a fuel station.

New club brings over 150 new jobs to community, $25,000 in local grants

To staff the new Casa Grande club, Sam’s Club has hired more than 150 new associates.

“These jobs are an important step in providing new career opportunities to residents.” said Valles. “In addition to the jobs, we’re providing $25,000 in grants to the local community. This is a first step in what will be many years of giving back to the Casa Grande community.”
