Social Security dollars go far in Pinal, study finds

Retirees looking to relocate in Arizona might want to give Pinal County a closer look if they’re aiming to stretch their Social Security dollars as far as possible.
According to a recent study by New York-based financial consulting hub SmartAsset, Pinal ranks second in Arizona — beaten only by Mohave County — in getting the most bang for your buck with an index rating of 74.75.
“While it’s certainly advisable to have some retirement savings of your own to help pay for your golden years, if you will be relying mostly on Social Security benefits, this study can help,” SmartAsset says, though it also states that Social Security benefits are not intended to serve as the sole source of income. “We analyzed where in the U.S. Social Security benefits will go the furthest.”
