A Valley businessmen who has tried four times over the years to locate a medical marijuana dispensary in Florence is now contemplating one just outside the southern town limits.
Rakesh “Rocky” Pahwa is set to meet with neighbors in a couple of weeks for a question and answer session. He has yet to file an application with Pinal County. If he does, his application would be heard by the county Planning & Zoning Commission and the Board of Supervisors.
Pahwa said he holds the license to serve the Florence-area Community Health Analysis Area, or “CHAA.” When he was before the Town Council earlier this year, seeking a permit for a dispensary in the building where the River Bottom Grill is now located, he had a partner.
