Voters support Pinal school spending proposals

One incumbent lost a seat in Florence as one of the area school board races with the most candidates was decided.

With all precincts counted Wednesday morning but some early votes left to process, Rose Marie Monks was running last with 3,199 votes. The winners appeared to be newcomer Katrina Castillo, with 5,388, and incumbents Jim Thomas, 5,025, and Bob Dailey, 4,914. Michelle Cordes had 4,754 and Stacy Gramazio 4,031.

In the Casa Grande Union High School District, incumbent Nancy Hawkins was the top winner with 7,297 votes counted Wednesday, followed by Connie Dolezal with 6,934. Former board member Chuck Wright appeared to get the third seat with 5,123, followed by Daniel Miller with 4,956, Fred Tucker with 4,439 and incumbent Ed Barbour with 4,181.
