Widening I-10 at Earley Road still slated

Drivers headed south on Interstate 10 soon will have a wider highway to travel on.
I-10 from Earley Road to the Intestate 8 interchange will be widened into a six-lane freeway, three lanes in each direction. Tom Hermann, a spokesman with the Arizona Department of Transportation, said the funding has been approved for work to begin in the current fiscal year, approved with a five-year plan by the transportation board. Work is expected to begin in the spring on that section.
Widening I-10 at Earley will make it smooth sailing to Tucson, now that most portions of I-10 south of Casa Grande have been, or are in the process of being, widened.
