Annexation of gin up for discussion

The City of Coolidge had a public hearing last Monday to look at an annexation that would bring a medical marijuana grow facility into city limits.

An annexation known as the “Gin Annexation” had its day at council as City Manager Rick Miller walked members of the public through the particulars. The annexation involves approximately 172 acres of land, which the landowners are seeking to have brought into Coolidge’s incorporated boundaries.

The gin is on the largest parcel of land up for annexation, which sits on the northwest corner of State Route 287 and Eleven Mile Corner Road. Included is the indoor medical cannabis grow facility.
