BLM seeks public input for Sonoran Desert National Monument plan

Change is on the way for a national monument made up of more than 487,000 acres of the Sonoran Desert, and the Bureau of Land Management is asking for public opinion during a 90-day comment period.

Two informational meetings will take place this month seeking a response from the public on target shooting management alternatives for the monument.

The particular planning area, according to the Resource Management Plan Amendment, covers close to 486,400 acres within both Maricopa and Pinal counties and encompasses federal and also nearby state and private lands.
