Business closures mark rough start for year in Casa Grande

And another one bites the dust.
Rubio’s Coastal Grill closed abruptly Sunday with limited notice to employees. On Saturday at the quick-serve restaurant, employees told PinalCentral the restaurant was closing due to an increase in rent. The employees were not authorized to talk on the record.
Rubio’s was located in The Promenade at Casa Grande, a shopping mall that’s seen its share of closures in the past few years. A request for comment from the public relations department of Macerich, the parent company of the Promenade, wasn’t answered by press time.
