Candidates for 4 Pinal offices gather at large ‘Dispatch’-sponsored forum

The need to secure additional state revenue was the primary topic of discussion among the incumbent Democrat and the three Republican challengers for the District 8 Arizona Senate seat during Thursday’s candidate forum hosted by the Casa Grande Dispatch.
Republicans Harold Vangilder, Irene Littleton and Alan Pease agreed that one of the best ways to generate revenue is to eliminate or reduce the state’s income and corporate taxes. Vangilder said reducing those tax rates would ease the burdens of single mothers, retirees and others who are struggling financially, and it would make Arizona a more appealing place for businesses to relocate and create jobs.
