CART buses mobilize Pinal County residents

CARTIt’s an ideal solution for a sparsely populated county with cities miles apart and public transportation options few and far between.

Based in Coolidge, Central Arizona Regional Transit is meeting the needs of college students, people who need a ride to work and those without other access to groceries or medicine.

The primary mission of CART, according to Coolidge Assistant City Manager Jill Dusenberry, is to provide citizens without reliable means of transportation an affordable way to travel throughout Pinal County.

“The two groups that we have seen since about 2010 that are benefiting the most are individuals commuting to the county, and individuals that are going to Central Arizona College for one of their programs,” she said.
