Casa Grande dairy will grow marijuana indoors

After several delays, Sidewinder Dairy in Casa Grande now has a permit to grow medical marijuana, but it won’t be an outdoor grow.

The applicant initially asked for a special use permit to grow medical marijuana on plots of land outdoors at its farm. The Pinal County Board of Supervisors held to a stipulation recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission to instead have the grow site be indoors.

Concerns were raised by many in the community when it was announced the intention was to grow the marijuana outdoors. Even with walls, security cameras and other features, those people were concerned about children or criminals having access to the product.
