City of Apache Junction Launches the Strong Sustainable Community Initiative
A successful city relies both on residents and business, which is the core concept behind the Strong Sustainable Community Initiative (SSC); strengthening neighborhoods, sustaining businesses, celebrating community. The City of Apache Junction is excited to launch this collaborative effort within the community to revitalize neighborhoods while creating a viable community for business investment, growth and success.
The purpose of the SSC is to make concerted efforts to invest in neighborhoods and provide clean, safe and desirable environments to live. By creating strong neighborhoods, a solid customer base is built which helps support local businesses and the viability of the local economy. With healthy neighborhoods and business, the quality of life is increased for current residents and attracts new residents who want to be part of the community.
The SSC is pleased to announce the first neighborhood to be accepted into the program, Smythe Homie. Residents living within the boundaries (Apache Trail to Broadway and Meridian Road to Delaware) are invited to complete a survey to share what they feel is most important to them about their neighborhood. The survey and additional information can be found online at www.ajcity.net/ssc. Encouraging engagement between neighbors and the local businesses will enhance the sense of community within Apache Junction.
