Coolidge allocates funds not budgeted this year to support Artisan Village

The city has decided to allocate more funds to Artisan Village of Coolidge in the name of economic development.

On Monday night, the Coolidge City Council unanimously voted to approve giving funds to Artisan Village under the umbrella of economic development, since the village doesn’t have its own line item in the city budget.

Mayor Jon Thompson asked City Attorney Denis Fitzgibbons the key question that a handful were wondering about the city and Artisan Village’s involvement together: legality.
