Coolidge drops tax levy, but maintains revenue

At Monday night’s Coolidge City Council meeting, council members opted to drop the property tax rate down to $1.9062 per $100 of value for the new fiscal year.

The reason for the drop, says Finance Director Gabriel Garcia, has to do with the rise in property valuations for Pinal County.

“Property values rose so we lowered our rate,” Garcia told PinalCentral. “We can’t control the valuations by the county but we can control how much we levy.”
