Developer plans major rehab of 58 low-rent apts. in Florence

FlorenceThe Florence Town Council agreed to give up $80,000 worth of construction-related fees to help a developer’s application for funding to rehabilitate three affordable housing complexes.

In addition to newly renovated and more energy-efficient apartments, tenants will receive after-school educational support, computer and job training and preventative health care.

The council voted to waive plan review fees, building permit fees and development impact fees for Florence Apartments Associates, LLC, at last week’s regular meeting.
