Horses are part of the Windmill’s charm, so they were included on this special occasion. In a different sort of groundbreaking ceremony, Mayor Tara Walter gets ready to plow the field south of the Windmill Winery April 20. Windmill owners, partners, staff and guests were celebrating the Windmill’s expansion. Construction is set to begin soon on a new event center in a fully-restored cotton gin and a 25-room boutique hotel.
