Florence may help pay for facade upgrades

Downtown businesses and property owners may soon be able to paint; upgrade their signs, doors, windows or awnings; or make other improvements to a building’s outward appearance for half the cost in the town’s new façade improvement program.

The Florence Industrial Development Authority would manage the program for the town.

A property owner, or a tenant with the owner’s written permission, may be able to submit an application to do façade improvements, then submit up to $10,000 in eligible receipts to reimbursed for half of his or her costs.
