Ideal location of new Pinal freeway up for debate

The North-South Freeway will be years in the making, yet that hasn’t deterred local residents from discussing where exactly the freeway should align.

Approved by voters on Nov. 7, the Regional Transportation Plan gives a snapshot of future roadways countywide and their general trajectory.

The North-South Freeway, which will cost an estimated $326.4 million, is designed to make travel to and from the Valley easier for Pinal County residents, extending down from U.S. 60 in the Coolidge-Florence area toward Interstate 10 in the Eloy area.
