Service honors former Ak-Chin chief
Milton “Paul” Antone, the Ak-Chin chief of police who was killed in the line of duty in 1983, was remembered at the annual Pinal County Peace Officers Memorial Service on May 5.
Ann Marie Antone, who is today an Ak-Chin council member, fondly remembered her uncle in remarks to the crowd of law enforcement, family and community members gathered in front of the fallen officers memorial at the Pinal County Sheriff’s Department.
She tearfully recalled being called out of class, as a sixth grader, to receive the news that her uncle had been killed. She called him a role model for the community. “He was a great man, a great uncle and a great coach.
