Mammoth Council approves ordinances and celebrates a birthday

MammothSeveral changes to the Mammoth Town Code were discussed, approved and tabled at a meeting held last week. Those in attendance also helped one councilman celebrate a milestone.

Ordinance number 196 concerning the recall from office and ineligibility of a recalled official from running and being elected to office for eight years or two election cycles was tabled for more information. The town’s attorney is looking into the issue.

Ordinance number 199 to add Town Code Section 2.04.03 Vacancies in Council was passed. The ordinance includes the positions of Mayor or Council member becoming vacant upon death, resignation, removal from office, absence of three Council meetings, non-residency in Town limits, conviction of felony, failure to file oath of office, or void election.
