Maricopa’s magistrate court will look a lot different in roughly eight months.
The question is, how much different?
As city council discussions continue in executive session about the city’s next step in the wake of the Arizona Supreme Court’s investigation into former city magistrate and justice of the peace Scott Sulley’s role in a financial mismanagement scandal, the public is left to guess what kind of transition is in store.
From the perspective of the justice of the peace race, it’s not too complicated. Four candidates are currently running to replace Sulley for that seat – Russ Kimball, Lyle Riggs, Kevin Taylor and Julia Gusse.
