Maricopa music festival aims to be ‘Coachella of Arizona’

Promoters are giving the Maricopa Music & Beer Festival another shot.

Urban Royalty Entertainment announced that the latest incarnation of a festival that last took place in Maricopa in 2014 will be coming to UltraStar in April. Currently, the festival is scheduled for April 7, but if enough bands are added to the lineup and consumer interest is developed, it can expand to include April 6 and 8.

Chrystal Allen-O’Jon, a Maricopa resident and founder and event producer for the festival, said due to her husband’s retirement from the military, she now has the time available to pursue running this festival on an annual basis. The goal, she said, is to make this festival the “Coachella of Arizona,” making Maricopa a destination for music lovers.
