Marana prides itself on being a business friendly community and that does not happen by accident. The town’s strategic plan specifically highlights commerce as one of the five focus areas, but more importantly they have an economic development strategic plan that provides the specifics to bring business to town and how to support the businesses once they call Marana home.

Specifically the plan is designed to provide “a long-term vision for how the town will continue to grow and nourish Marana’s local economy.”

The town worked with consultants IO, Inc. throughout the fall to work with town staff, business owners, industry experts and the public to help craft the latest edition of the plan and it was formally approved by the Marana Town Council in March. Thanks in part to a grant from the Tohono O’odham Nation, the town was able to hire IO, Inc.
