Pinal County sees spike in renters

Following the burst of the housing bubble in 2008, more Americans looked to rent the place they live rather than take out a mortgage and buy.
Pinal County has followed that trend and outpaced the rest of Arizona in the past two years.
George Hammond, director and research professor at the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management, said the percentage of rented occupied housing units in Pinal County has risen each of the last three years, from 21.8 percent in 2010 to 30.6 percent last year.
