DECEMBER NEWS

Pinal County Veteran’s Memorial Foundation

On Saturday, November 9th, Casa Grande had their Seventh Annual Veterans Day Parade.  This year after the parade, the Pinal County Veterans Memorial Foundation (PCVMF) had their First Annual Veterans Celebration.   There were hot dogs, hamburgers, entertainment and an award ceremony by Palmer Miller.  The PCVMF was given a Certificate of Recognition and Appreciation.

We want to thank Christine Deaton in handling the entertainment, all the sponsors as well as the PCVMF Event Committee, Debby Martin, Nancy Fassbender, Donna Stadum, Deb Nordby in planning this Celebration as well as all the volunteers who came out to make this a successful event.

We are planning next year’s Celebration.

An Interesting Article:

Pinal Ways Magazine has been putting out some great articles about the Pinal County Veterans Memorial Foundation.  The 2013 Winter Edition which comes out the 1st week of December will have our own Historian/Research person.  Her name is Nancy Fassbender.  During her research of finding over 250 fallen soldiers who were from Pinal County, she found that there were stories out there to tell about the individual soldiers.  So she is compiling stories into a book and some of her writings will be publish in this edition.  Watch the newsstand for an interesting article.

Casa Grande Electric Light Parade

Pinal County Veterans Memorial Foundation will be having their first float in this parade.  The parade will be December 7th starting at 6pm.  Please come and enjoy the parade in Casa Grande and cheer on our float.

I think since this is the 72nd Anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, what a great tribute to have our float in the parade!
