Pinal supervisors discuss their ‘most vexing’ issues at Pinal Partnership February breakfast
by Mark Cowling | Casa Grande Dispatch
Among several potential issues that could be vexing to Pinal County Supervisor Mike Goodman this year is whether or not San Tan Valley will vote to become a city.
Goodman and his fellow supervisors spoke to a Pinal Partnership breakfast audience at the Windmill Winery Friday morning. The District 2 supervisor noted at last month’s breakfast, where new mayors were featured, San Tan Valley wasn’t at the table because it’s not a city, although it has more than 100,000 people. Goodman said there’s interest in incorporation, but the community has a problem with misinformation going around.
“We want the public to be able to make an informed decision whether or not they want incorporation,” the Republican from San Tan Valley said.
A bill is currently advancing through the Legislature that would pave the way for San Tan Valley residents to vote on whether they wish to form a city.
Asked for his “most vexing” issue this year, Supervisor and Board Chairman Stephen Miller, R-Casa Grande, said transportation would be challenging for all the supervisors.
