While not the contentious section of the administrative policies that it was seeking to change, the council voted to approve loosening the residency requirements for police officers employed by the city.

According to current city policy, sworn officers must live within a 30-minute response time to the police station, limiting officers residency options to Eloy, Casa Grande, Coolidge and some parts of Marana.
