Rattlers to keep training camp in Maricopa

After a one-year experiment with holding training camp in Maricopa, the Arizona Rattlers were pleased with the results and officially committed Tuesday night to coming back again for 2017.

The team, which moved in the offseason from the Arena Football League to the Indoor Football League, scheduled its 2 1/2 week training camp for late January through mid-February.

Maricopa Community Services Director Kristie Riester made the announcement at Tuesday night’s council meeting as that body accepted an agreement to provide the Rattlers space to train at Copper Sky Regional Park.

“The parks staff are already excited and gearing up,” Riester said.
