Rural/Metro to have new ownership

A company that provides ambulance and fire services across Maricopa and Pinal counties is being sold to a Colorado company.
Details of the sale of Rural/Metro Corp. to Envision Healthcare Holdings weren’t immediately available.
Mesa-based Rural/Metro owns and operates Southwest Ambulance, Rural/Metro Fire Department and PMT Ambulance.
Rural/Metro filed for bankruptcy in 2013 and began operating under a reorganization plan in 2014.
