San Tan park’s long trek from dump to desert preserve

A constituent had a question for Sandie Smith. It was around the mid-’90s. She sat on the Pinal County Board of Supervisors. The question was about a park.
“He wanted to know why we had a Maricopa County park in Pinal County,” Smith said.
Good question. One Smith couldn’t answer off the top of her head. So with the help of staff, she looked into it.
